SO it’s time for us to get to know each other and see how we’ll work together with the camera + you’ll use these images to share with your friends + family your exciting upcoming wedding news! Sessions are always fun, I hope you are looking forward to it!

LOCATIONS
Choosing a location for your engagement session can be a little bit tricky. I encourage my couples to select a location that matches their personal style.
I have shot everywhere from the rooftop of an urban skyscraper to the couple’s back yard. Bringing in these personal elements excites me as a photographer and adds to the authenticity of the couple’s portrait. Wherever you choose, having your own unique personalities shine through will achieve a relaxed and genuine feel to your images.
So here are a few questions to ask yourself when choosing your e-session venue:
*Where did you meet? Going back to the location where you met brings back great memories and captures a piece of your history together.
*Where was your first date? The location of your first date is definitely a great choice for your e-session. It is a significant venue for the both of you and capturing moments there can be really special.
*Are there any significant activities/locations you love to share? Where is your wedding location is that an option??
*Don’t worry if nothing immediately comes to mind I’ve plenty of options to suggest + I ADORE animals so am happy for you to include your pet’s in the session too!

Feel free to get hair and makeup done. Not only is it a great way to feel extra dolled up for the photoshoot, it can also double as the trial run for your makeup/hair artist! Check out Karen Filos if you haven’t already some-one you adore, Karen makes every-one look ahhhhhmazing + she truly understands how different your wedding day/e-session day in front of the camera can be!
Bring two different outfits if possible that are easy to change up, solid color’s are great, no stripes or dot’s though they can be distracting and have fun with it, bring any hats/props that might be significant to you both.
If you could possibly have your fiance watch the engagement slideshow link listed below before our shoot that really seems to help. Guys are less likely to “work-it” in front of a camera, but if they come to the session already knowing my intention is to make them look their best (i.e. strong poses, masculine forms, etc), they’re malleable.
Feel beautiful. This probably sounds silly, but it’s true. During our session, I want you to feel beautiful; like the best version of yourself.
I want you to let your guard down and give me everything you have for an hour and a half. :)
SO NOW ON TO THE BIG ONE – ”WHAT TO WEAR???”
So once you’ve made that decision now on to the tough stuff “WHAT TO WEAR” ??!!
There are no hard or fast rules but there are definitely some outfits that will make my job more challenging.
DO :)
*Wear what makes YOU feel comfortable + confident.
*Wear what represents the both of you. These photos are about YOU!
*Be creative. If you love to get dressed up and go out, then throw on a ball gown and have him put on a tux. Maybe put on something with a vintage style or just go for a plain suit and nice evening dress. AND remember the shoes, color is so fun in these sessions.
*Express your fun-loving side + maybe bring some fun props …… + call me, because I love outside the box stuff like this.
*Choose figure-flattering ensembles. The camera can easily increase some of your shape. A photographer can work around this, but it may limit his or her creativity. You may want to take a few test shots at home to see how you look in an outfit. Those jeans that you loved may suddenly make your hips jump out. Dresses and skirts tend to flatter most bodies.
*Bring more than one! You can start with one style and then move to another. We will typically spend a couple hours shooting, so you could easily make an outfit change (or two). This will give you a lot of different options for photos.
*Make an easy change. If you have chosen a skirt/dress and a pants ensemble, begin the session in the skirt/dress. Also consider wearing layers which can make changing your look easier and faster. If you changing between two dresses, consider bringing a pair of shorts to put on in between.
DON’T
/ or do if you want to put me to the test:
*Wear black or really dark colors. You’ll blend with with the backgrounds and it will suck in all the light. Most wedding pro’s wear black on your big day because we want to blend in and disappear in photos.
*Choose busy patterns or loud logos, this distracts the viewer’s eye from you.
*Wear the same color as your fiancee. Outfits that are the same color may sound cute, but you will become one in the photos.

Call me once you’ve read through this and we can chat through your thoughts/ideas and make them come to life!!
